Dr. Stefan Göbel is a leading international expert on serious games and co-editor of the Springer volume Serious Games.

He teaches at the TU Darmstadt and is chairman of the association’s quality committee.

Pascal is an internationally renowned director and COO with a background in film and post-production, visual effects and real-time applications. He is currently Director of Enterprise at Crytek, where he is responsible for the development of customized solutions for business customers. In addition, he develops research and development projects and is also responsible for the transmedia development of Crytek IPs.

He believes in the importance of real-time technologies, serious games and AI for digital transformation and the opportunities they offer for individual, business-oriented solutions.

Prof. Dr. Josef Wiemeyer is a full professor at the Institute of Sports Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

One of his research focuses is the science-based development, testing and quality assurance of exergames.

After completing his master’s degree in business education, Giulio has been professionally committed to the sustainable integration of immigrants into education, work and society since 2014. Initially working as a team leader in the field of qualification in vocational adult education, he has been head of the digitization department at a renowned educational institution in Frankfurt am Main since 2020. In this role and as a passionate gamer, he successfully introduces the benefits and possible applications of serious games for vocational training to various target groups.

Prof. Dr. Oliver Korn is Director of the Affective Cognitive Institute (ACI) and Professor at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences.

He is co-founder of KORION Interactive GmbH and has over 15 years of experience in the conception, development and distribution of serious games and gamified applications.

Martin Steinicke is a research assistant & lecturer in the Creative Media research group at the Research and Further Education Center for Culture & Computer Science at the HTW Berlin University of Applied Sciences.

His research focuses on the application of game concepts (gamification) and technologies (APITs) and their synthesis in digital game-based learning.

Prof. Dr. Michael Kickmeier-Rust
Prof. Dr. Michael Kickmeier-Rust is head of the Digital Teaching and Learning Technologies department at the University of Teacher Education St.Gallen. He is a lecturer in social science research methods and has been working with intelligent technologies in education, in particular digital learning games, for over 15 years. With his background in applied psychological research and development, he not only covers the technical aspects of serious games, but also the psychological and educational aspects in particular.

Katharina Straßburg works as Backup Coordinator for the Lotcheck Department at Nintendo of Europe in Frankfurt.
After studying game design at the Games Academy in Frankfurt, she supported the WTT Serious Games project at the TH Darmstadt and was also involved in various serious games projects, such as the “Skillstar” project of the Youth and Education Foundation.

Prof. Dr. Anna Martin-Niedecken heads the Institute for Design Research at the Zurich University of the Arts, is Professor of Esports Management at the School of Applied Management and founder & CEO of the fitness gaming startup Sphery.

With her background in sports science and her many years of experience as a senior games researcher, she has specialized in the development and research of serious and applied games in the health, sports and fitness context in her interdisciplinary work.

Prof. Dr. Greta Hoffmann is a practicing game designer and researcher and works as a professor of game design with a focus on independent games at the Cologne Game Lab.

She has published several award-winning serious games and digital projects (Die Müll AG, InvestNuts, Kubun).

Tibor Vetter has been an enthusiastic gamer for years. However, for some time now he has been less concerned with the games themselves than with the question of how virtual game worlds can be used sensibly in the social and healthcare sector. Since 2009, he has coordinated several research projects on silver gaming and exergames at the Wohlfahrtswerk für Baden-Württemberg.

Regina Frieß is a professor of media conception and media studies at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences and a member of the Creative Media research group based there at the Research and Further Education Center for Culture & Informatics. Her research focuses on the conception of and user research into immersive media environments.
