Here you can submit your serious game for assessment by the Gütegemeinschaft Serious Games e.V.. Certified games receive the RAL quality mark and are listed on our website.

The procedure

Serious games are evaluated by independent experts in a peer review process.

The application is assessed by at least two experts, and in borderline cases by three experts. Regardless of the result, you will receive a detailed test report.

Step 1 - Description in Portal

Step 2 - Registration and payment

The costs for certification are
– with association membership: € 1,500 plus VAT (total € 1,785)
– without association membership: € 3,900 plus VAT (total € 4,641)

Receipt of the referral is a prerequisite for starting the assessment process.

Step 3 - Evaluation

The independent experts first look at the description of the application in the Serious Games Information Center first.

The serious game is then tested in a peer review process. Two independent experts will examine the application in detail. A third person is consulted in the event of major differences in assessment. If the application is not directly playable (e.g. because special hardware is required), we will contact you and find a way to evaluate the application objectively.

Regardless of the result, you will receive a detailed test report for technical assessment.

Step 4 - Awarding the seal of approval

If the criteria are met, your application will receive the RAL quality seal.

You can use it to advertise and document the quality of your application. At the same time, your serious game will be listed on our website in the “Award-winning games” section.
